College Open Houses

This is mostly for high school juniors but any student who may even think college may be in your future should consider college open house events. These have a variety of names but the basic idea is this is your opportunity to get on campus and meet with professors from the majors you may be considering, view dorms, and meet organizations and other students like yourself in a no pressure environment. You tour following your own schedule - unless the school has unfortunately over scheduled which can also be a warning sign about the school. Being on campus is one of the best ways to get a real feel for how you feel about a school. There is no charge for most of these events so attend as many as you can in the fall and spring - another reason to start as soon as your freshman year of high school.
